About Us

    Home  /  About Us

We are Chapter #125, the Gulf Coast Chapter of the Romance Writers of America®.

We serve the romance authors of the Alabama, Florida and Mississippi Gulf Coasts and our members range from beginner to PRO, from unpublished to PAN. We write in every sub-genre of romance including: Contemporary, Inspirational, Historical, Paranormal, Erotic Romance, Romantic Suspense, and Young Adult.

If you’re looking for a group dedicated to nurturing beginning writers, helping intermediate writers get to the next level, and assisting published authors to maintain career success, you’ve come to the right place.

Our chapter meets on the first Saturday of every month from 11 AM to 1 PM. There will be no meeting for the month of December.

Meetings are held in the Carpe Diem Coffee House located at 4072 Old Shell Road, Mobile, Alabama 36608. Phone number for location:  (251) 304-0448. The meeting will be upstairs.

We also have a remote attendance option for those who cannot attend in person; please inquire at hagg@mindspring.com if you are interested in attending remotely (using Adobe Connect technology).

You are welcome to attend one meeting as a guest.

Membership Dues are $25 annually and chapter members must also belong to the Romance Writers of America®.  Your RWA membership will be verified  at the time you join. Members are encouraged to participate in the chapter’s Yahoo Group list.

HeartLA's annual Readers' Luncheon

Hi. I’m the president of the Heart of Louisiana, the Baton Rouge Chapter of RWA. This November 12th, we will be holding our tenth annual Readers’ Luncheon. Is it possible for me to get a list of your published authors, especially those who have or will have a new release between October 2015 and November 2016? I’m not sure at this time if our budget will allow us to offer free tickets to any guests, but we would love to have as many authors as possible attend. Authors will be introduced and have the opportunity to sell and sign books. Thank you in advance.

Information for Readers

Do you offer memberships for readers? I live in Mobile and normally cannot attend any book events that are up North like most events are. I would love to support local authors and am on multiple ARC Teams and do Beta Reading for a few authors
