About Us

The Gulf Coast Chapter of the Romance Writers of America® was founded in 1992 by a group of authors who were determined to see themselves in print.

Over the years the members have changed but the goals have remained the same: to provide information and support for authors in all sub-genres of romance, unpublished and published, beginner and veteran.

We serve the writers of the Alabama, Florida and Mississippi Gulf Coasts and our bi-annual Silken Sands Conference draws visitors from all over the United States.

Meetings are held on the first Saturday of every month (with exceptions for holidays) in the banquet room of Ryan’s Steakhouse in Tillman’s Corner, Alabama. For directions phone: 251-662-0880. For more information email us here.
